Joshua Leizerman, Esq. Board Certified Truck Accident Attorney
When a truck crash changes everything, credentials matter. Joshua was among the first attorneys in the nation to earn Board Certification in Truck Accident Law from the National Board of Trial Advocacy — and he has devoted his entire career to one thing: holding trucking companies accountable.

While You Are Still Recovering
Truck evidence can change — or disappear. Three moves decide most cases.
Preserve electronic evidence
Driver logs, engine-control data, dashcam video, telematics and dispatch records are time-sensitive — preservation demands must go out immediately.
Identify every responsible party
The driver, motor carrier, broker, shipper, maintenance company and equipment owner may each carry responsibility — and each requires investigation.
Protect the first conversation
Get legal advice before giving the trucking company's insurer a recorded statement. Early words shape the entire case.
Board Certification — Verified
Why board certification matters in a truck crash case
Any lawyer can advertise for truck accident cases. Very few have proven — under examination, vetting and peer review — that they actually know this field. Board Certification in Truck Accident Law is an objective, independently verified credential — earned through examination, vetting and peer review.
A dedicated trucking practice
Certification requires that a substantial percentage of the attorney's practice be devoted to trucking litigation — not general personal injury with trucks on the side.
Proven case experience
Candidates must demonstrate hands-on experience litigating multiple truck accident cases, verified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.
A comprehensive written examination
A rigorous exam covering federal motor carrier regulations, trucking industry standards and commercial vehicle litigation.
Stringent background vetting
Independent review of the attorney's record, references and standing before certification is granted.
Joshua Leizerman was among the first attorneys in the United States to earn Board Certification in Truck Accident Law — and he serves on the Board of Regents of the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys, a distinction reserved for recognized leaders in truck crash law.

About Joshua Leizerman, Esq.
Joshua M. Leizerman · Leizerman Law, LLC
Joshua Leizerman continues the Leizerman family tradition of representing truck crash victims and their families — a name recognized nationally in truck accident law. He has devoted his entire legal career to truck crash litigation and truck crashes make up the vast majority of his caseload.
Before practicing law, Joshua served in the United States Marine Corps. He brings that same discipline and relentlessness to the courtroom on behalf of families whose lives have been changed forever by preventable truck crashes.
Joshua was the founding Vice-Chairperson and a former Chairperson of the Ohio Association for Justice's Trucking Safety Section. He is a graduate of the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College, the nation's most selective trial advocacy program and a member of the American Association for Justice's Trucking Litigation Group.
He also represents injured railroad workers as a member of the Academy of Rail Labor Attorneys.
Practice Areas
Serious truck crash litigation is the core of the practice
Commercial trucking cases are governed by federal safety regulations, electronic evidence and corporate defense teams that deploy within hours of a crash. This is not car accident law — and it demands an attorney who lives in this field.
Semi-Truck & 18-Wheeler Crashes
Catastrophic collisions involving tractor-trailers, box trucks, tankers and commercial fleets — from evidence preservation through trial.

Questions Families Ask
Frequently asked questions
What does "Board Certified in Truck Accident Law" actually mean?
It is the only independent certification of its kind, awarded by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. It requires a practice substantially devoted to trucking litigation, verified case experience, a comprehensive written exam and background vetting. Joshua was among the first attorneys in the nation to earn it.
How is a truck accident case different from a car accident case?
Truck cases involve federal motor carrier safety regulations, commercial insurance, electronic logging data, driver qualification files and corporate defendants whose rapid-response teams often reach the scene before the wreckage is cleared. Evidence can be lost in days — which is why specialized counsel matters immediately.
How much does it cost to hire Leizerman Law?
Nothing up front. Case reviews are free and cases are handled on a contingency fee — you pay no attorney fee unless there is a recovery in your case.
What should I do right after a serious truck crash?
Get medical care first. Preserve what you can — photos, witness names, the police report number. Do not give a recorded statement to the trucking company's insurer before speaking with an attorney and contact board certified counsel quickly so preservation demands can be sent before evidence disappears.
How much is a truck accident case worth?
No honest attorney can quote a value without knowing the case. Worth depends on the injuries and lifetime medical needs, lost earnings, liability evidence, available insurance and the responsible parties involved. What can be said: cases prepared for trial by specialized counsel are consistently valued more seriously by insurers. Reviews are free.
Who can be held responsible in a truck crash?
Potentially far more than the driver: the motor carrier, the freight broker, the shipper, the maintenance contractor and the equipment owner may each carry responsibility. Identifying every responsible party — and every insurance policy — is one of the most consequential early steps.
